This is a note for Wisconsin farmers and others who might be
interested in seeking grants to do demonstration projects.
The Wis. Dept. of Ag., Trade and Consumer Protection has announced
the availability of $100,000 (usually given in $3,000 to $10,000
lumps) for demonstration grants in 1996. This money is for projects
that demonstrate sustainable farming practices or that educate
people about sustainable farming. Recipients must spend at least 25
percent of their grants on public outreach (like field days or
educational materials). Projects may be for up to two years.
Applications must be typed and postmarked by December 6, 1995.
For more information or a grant application please call Carol
Nelson, (608) 224-4607.
Peace
Michele
