Dear SANETTEERS:
Are you interested in ecological farming, food security,
world hunger, sustainable development? Of course you are.
Why bother to ask??!
Well, I'm looking for a KEYNOTE SPEAKER for World Food
Day, October 16. The theme is "Fighting Hunger: Looking Back,
Looking Ahead." This represents the 50th anniversary of FAO.
If you or someone you know might be available on this short
notice, please read on.
We are talking about inviting you to Wild, Wonderful
(Almost Heaven) West Virginia, just when the autumn leaves are
at their peak. Tough assignment! You will be asked to give a
20-minute motivational speech at 11:30 AM, and perhaps a
lecture or seminar in the afternoon.
By way of background, the official World Food Day agenda
seems to be pretty much set by FAO, USAID, and USIA. To
provide a balance, I'm hoping to invite a speaker from
alternative and NGO circles. I have in mind places like World
Resources Institute, Worldwatch, World Sustainable Agriculture
Association, Food First, etc.
If you are interested, please reply right now. Or,
forward this to someone who might be interested. Expenses and
honorarium will be provided.
Very best regards,
John Lozier, Ph. D.
