Bill Heffernan, Rural Sociologist at the University of Missouri
Columbia, has these figures. 314-882-4563. I heard him make a
presentation at the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture in
Ames, Iowa (at Iowa State U) on the subject.

A few multi-national corportations have a great deal of control over
the U.S. food supply. Although facts and figures are often a "grey"
area, I wonder what SANET people know...
Does anyone have the figures at hand? I would like to include
current data in my undergrad "environmental planning and
management" lectures next week. For example, I've heard that
80% of the U.S. food supply is controlled by 5 companies. Any
support for this statement or other, similar statements?
Thanks, Leslie
