I like what you said, Ron, but I think the previous message was about
making room on farms for wildlife instead of having to choose between
wilderness and farmland. But your comments on consumers being unwilling
to pay a premium obviously applies here as well; if farmers have to
accomodate wildlife, then they're going to lose some of their crop to it.
That will assuredly drive prices up.

Did anyone see today's NYTimes editorial re: the farm bill? I hope a
capable writer responds to it... It's interesting how an esteemed
newspaper can reduce such a complex issue down to one paragraph. I feel
they've been pretty cursory in their reporting this year.
