For your information--What Ohio Extension Agents Say About Sustainable
Agriculture, Robert A. Agunga, Journal of Sustainable Agriculture, 1995,
Vol 5(3), p. 169-187.
I think this article is helpful to people involved in state Extension
sustainable agriculture training programs. It reports on the following:
-Meaning of sustainable agriculture as perceived by Extension agents
-Availability of research findings on sustainable agriculture
-Extension agents' attitude toward sustainable agriculture
-Areas of sustainable agriculture where Extension agents express a
training need
-Who are the opinion leaders on sustainable agriculture
-How Extension agents like sustainable agriculture information delivered
to them
-How to provide sustainable agriculture training programs for Extension
agents
-Recommendations
Are you gathering similar information in your state? I know North Dakota
and Missouri held listensing sessions, and Iowa and Nebraska conducted surveys.
The target groups and questions may differ; however, the results could give
others insight for their trainging strategies.
