Assistant Professor, Vegetable Crop Extension/Research. The Department of
Horticulture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for
an assistant professor position supporting the potato and processing
vegetable industries. The position is 80% Extension/20% Research (12 month
appt.). The incumbent will provide statewide leadership in Extension
programs serving potato and processing vegetable production; will
incorporate expertise from allied departments to enable the industry to
create and sustain profitable and environmentally responsible production
practices; and will cooperate with industry and commodity groups to develop
and deliver Extension programming. Research responsibilities include
applied research in potato and processing vegetable production systems that
are profitable and environmentally responsible, especially in sensitive
areas. Continued development of modules for integrated crop management
software currently in production is expected. Some germplasm evaluation is
likely. Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in horticulture or a
related field. Postgraduate work and experience with potatoes or processing
vegetable crops is desirable. Applications received by October 31, 1995
