*U.S. National Electronic Open Meeting.*
U.S. Office of Management and Budget is sponsoring a two-week
nationwide online public meeting to find out what types of
government information and services people are interested in
receiving online. The meeting will focus on five areas:
services to be expanded online; potential online benefits;
types of information that should be available; ways to ensure
that large segments of society are not excluded from
"electronic government"; and what technologies will be
required to make such online services available.
This is an opportunity to let to let the federal government
know what types of information you want to be able to access
on line. Other questions that will be addressed include: What
level of effort should the government devote to electronic
dissemination of information? Should the taxpayers foot the
bill for information access or should the direct users pay
some of the cost?
The meeting, which will last until midnight, May 14, 1995,
