ALLIANCE & WFUV TEAM UP FOR RADIO SERIES
Amy Eddings, News & Public Affairs Director of WFUV, is taking
the initiative to work with the NYC Food System Alliance to
get food and agriculture issues aired on WFUV's weekly
CityScape series. The first program featured news and updates
on the use of rBGH on dairy cows. Coming soon will be a
program on CSAs and urban-rural linkages that we hope will
lead to the establishment of a Fordham University CSA. Also
underway is a program on concentration of the food system, the
Farm Bill and the role of citizen action, as well as a show on
farmers markets, focusing on the New Farmers New Markets
program. If you are interested in developing a collaborative
program to be aired on WFUV, please let Kathy know!

LEGISLATIVE ALERTS
Now is an important time for NYS food and ag. legislation as
well as the 1995 federal Farm Bill. NYSAWG is concentrating on
the Rural Revitalization Act and the establishment of an NYS
Sustainable Ag council (see newsletter p.6). NYS legislators
need to receive letters of support for these important
initiatives this week.
