Environmental Monitoring and Development of Management Plans for Riparian
Zones and Wetlands.
I am starting a project with a Landcare Group in a high rainfall (900mm winter
dominant) region of South Australia, where the wetlands have been drained to a
large extent and subjected to grazing pressure and fertility enhancement.
The landholders now appreciate that this sensitive environment needs a
Management Plan and particularly a Riparian Zone Plan for the agricultural
practices of the region to achieve sustainability.
I have just been shown copies of Methods Manuals for Environmental Monitoring of
Lakes and Estuaries produced by the USEPA Office of Water, Office of Wetlands,
Oceans, and Watersheds, Oceans and Coastal Protection Division at 401 M Street,
SW (4504F), Washington DC 20460. (JT Simpson was the author of the Estuaries
Manual I think).
Can someone Email me an order form with the cost of these publications
particularly the new one on Wetlands? Any other information or comments would
be most helpful.
