Research Associate. Twelve-month, non-tenure position in the
Agronomy Department in a project: Modeling Agronomic Rotations.
Incumbent will collect existing research data and additional data
from ongoing crop rotation trials in Nebraska and other Midwest
states. Incumbent will develop models for comparing different
rotations, both fixed and flexible sequences, and create out of
sample rotations to compare biological and economic return and
stability and determine impacts of one-, two-, and multiple- year
effects of previous crops and weather. Incumbent will develop
decision making tools for farmers to make optimum rotation
decisions. Requires Ph.D. in soil and water sciences or a
related field. Experience with soil evaluation, a strong
background in soil fertility and statistics, good writing skills,
and familiarity with modeling, spread sheet, and SAS programs are
