Howdy Saneters,
A friend and I are collaborating on the development of computer programs
developed specifically for organic farmers. We are especially interested in
generating data that would be helpful for farmers to chart inputs, soil
improvements, costs per acre over time, and plug some holes in the farm
pocketbook. As an added benefit this same program would generate and
standardize data for researchers and, hopefully, streamline the certification
process.
We want to make sure there is interest in this pursuit and would appreciate
any comments from this group.
As a way to test the waters we are working on some very simple programs
that we will be distributing as low cost shareware. Simplifying and solving
questions farmers have with the aid of a computer is our goal. We have some
ideas but would like to also ask you for suggestions. If any of you have an
estimate or educated guess how many organic farmers have and use computers
that would be helpful as well.
