info on nigerseed

I'm trying to locate information about the niger seed (guizotia
abyssinica), its biology, general description, breeding, production
in the US if any, etc.

The niger is an oil seed believed to be native to Ethiopia and is
cultivated primarily in the tropics. It is also used as birdfeed
here in the US.

There seems to be very little literature on the niger; I'd really
appreciate any information I can get from you folks.
