*Forbidden Fruit: Illegal Pesticides in the U.S. Food
Supply.* Susan Elderkin, Richard Wiles and Christopher
Campbell. Documents residues of illegal pesticides on
produce sold in the United States. Recommends a systems
approach to residue monitoring that gives more
responsibility to the food industry, but requires third-
party certification, recordkeeping and public
disclosure, and farmer education of pesticide tolerances
