The Putney School is looking for a farm manager and educator to
operate its mixed livestock and dairy farm, to start July 1. Putney
is a progressive coeducational independent boarding school for grades
9-12, founded in 1935 in rural Vermont, with a strong traditional
college preparatory curriculum, a broad commitment to the arts, and
deep roots in rural life. The ideal candidate will have academic
credentials to teach or team teach a class; will work well with
students and with other faculty and staff to implement the schools
experiential program that is based on the farm and its attendant
enterprises; will integrate well with boarding school life; will
administer the farm budget and program; will be experienced in forage
production, pasture management, livestock husbandry and machinery and
plant maintenance. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Housing and meals are provided, two weeks paid vacation, health and
