Mosquito control

Has anyone heard of a way to reduce the number of mosquitos in
domestic gardens or bush-surrounded homes? We have eliminated
ponded water, but these mossies don't seem to need it. Some plants
are supposed to repel mosquitos, but apparently only when rubbed on
the skin, which is not what is needed.

Folklore has it that some people are much more attractive to
mosquitos than others. This suggests opportunities for a scent
attractant leading to some form of trap.
