Request for referrals/citations:

I am looking for examples or case studies of green marketing, differentiated markets
based on production practices with respect to environmental and conservation concerns,
IPM certification, environmental certification and the like for row crops. I am particularly
interested in USA examples involving international commodities like grains, cotton, sugar,
etc. I am familiar with the IPM certification program in Massachusetts, which thus far--to
my knowledge, has only considered primarily freshmarket fruits and vegetables.

Background: as a thesis project, I am developing an index of sustainability for cotton
production practices in Georgia. One potential use of such an index, is as a basis for a
certification program that would allow growers to take advantage of (potentially) higher
market prices for cotton produced in a more environmentally benign manner.

Unless you think it preferable to do otherwise, please direct your responses to my
personal e-mail address. In 2-3 weeks, I will post a summary of the responses I receive.

Much obliged. Cordially, john.
