"Agronomy - Science with its sleeves rolled up" is the
conference theme chosen to reflect the practical nature of
agronomy in dealing with production and environmental issues in
Australia. We encourage papers dealing with production,
economic and environmental aspects of agricultural management
through to the transfer of information to a diverse group of
clients. We shall examine the economic importance of
agriculture and the discipline of agronomy in its broadest
sense. Links between technology and people will get attention
as it becomes increasingly apparent that the transfer of
information remains challenging. Papers about developments in
technology for all areas of crop and pasture production are
encouraged. The conference will consist of two and a half days days of
plenary and concurrent sessions, posters and a full day field
tour.
Programme themes include:
Agronomy and the Australian Economy
Agronomy and the Environment
Agronomy and the Future.
Registration will be approximately $400, with accommodation
available at $50/day. Details of deadlines and submission
requirements will be posted in January, 1995.
