Hello. My name is Scott Robinson and I'm a student at UMass in Amherst.
I'm writing this in order to get some information on this enigmatic
topic: spirituality in agriculture. I know the word "spirituality" may
turn a lot of people off for whatever reason, I'm not really sure. But
what I'd like to know is what ties a farmaer to the land s/he is working
day in and day out for many long hours when life may be physically easier
to just get the average eight-hour/day job. Really what I'm asking isn't
too specific--anything from the view of a patron of a well established
religion from Wicca to Roman Catholicism, to a New Age view of what will
be needed in terms of love and cooperation in the coming years, to a
scientist's technicalities for why prayer has been shown in laboratory
studies to help certain bacteria survive...anything! The topic can be
pretty open when you think about it. So feel free to ramble. Thank you
for your time and any responce will be very much appreciated.
