You are obviously "wicked smaart" as my Grandfather would have said...&
your argument is well constructed in terms of classic economic theory.

But when values, an essential part of public policy debate is teased in,
there is considerable less authority to pure theory.

I appreciate your putting this out for feedback & interaction.

My values are such that the human & contextual aspects of rural and agrarian
life (yes, I was raise d on a multigenerational farm) weigh heavily in my
thinking on these matters. Put simply, I think our society benefits from
keeping the culture in agriculture...
