My response is very laate, and I don't have any on-line sources,
however I do have some useful information:

(1) "The Ecoforestry Institute (EI) is committed to fostering
ecologically responsible forestry and forest use. EI supports Natural
Selection Ecoforestry practices which will preserve the complexity aand
biodiversity of natural forests. We also support these practices for
use in restoration forestry. EI is a nonprofit organization
incorporated in Canada and the U.S." The institute offers the most
comprehensive ecoforestry courses in the world as far as I know.

(2) Greenpeace Canada has launched a campaign *end* clearcutting
across the country. MacMillan Bloedel, one of the largest logging
companies in the world, is suffering so much from Greenpeace's tactics
that it has spent over 200 million dollars (this includes Federal
and provincial expenditures as well) on PR aimed DIRECTLY at demoting
Greenpeace's "misinformation campaign". Of course, money can't buy
truth... three days ago, the Toronto School Board announced its
commitment to buy clearcut-free paper as soon as it is available
in Ontario. Greenpeace Vancouver is currently linking up companies
in B.C. that are using ecoforestry principles with promised buyers
in Europe, and a brand new market is emerging.
