Henry A. Wallace Institute for Alternative Agriculture

Postdoctoral Research Associate. The Institute seeks an analytically-minded individual with a Ph.D. in agricultural economics, rural sociology, political science, or policy analysis for a 1-2 year research position with its Policy Studies Program. The Research Associate will be asked to make major, independent contributions to a 2-year study of the relationship between domestic agricultural industrialization and sustainability. He or she will also be expected to contribute to the program's overall mandate to analyze policy options for or affecting alternative agriculture. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in policy analysis or evaluation, good familiarity with the American agriculture sector and the farm, resource, and environmental policies that influence it, possess exceptional writing skills, and have demonstrated an ability to conceptualize and pursue research problems independently and creatively. The temporary position is located at the Institute's offices
in Greenbelt, Maryland,

Contingent upon the outcome of current granting processes, the Institute may have a temporary or permanent position opening for an additional analyst in coming months. We thus also invite job inquires from experienced (2 or more years postgraduate experience) recipients of the M.S. or Ph.D. in agricultural economics or a related social science who have good knowledge and understanding of domestic agricultural issues and have independently conducted and published the results of policy analyses/evaluations.
