JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

INFORMATION SPECIALIST IN UC DAVIS SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE PROGRAM

Appointment: 2 years with possibility of renewal based on funding

Job Responsibilities: Full time position in the postgraduate series to
develop multidisciplinary workshops, educational materials, and
publications on sustainable agriculture techniques for Farm Advisors,
PCAs, consultants, growers and others in the agricultural industry. The
Specialist will use results from the Sustainable Agriculture Farming
Systems Project as a basis for educational materials, and use the
project site as a demonstration laboratory for workshops.

The experimental site is located on 30 acres at UC Davis. Four production
systems are 4 year conventional, low input, organic and 2 year
conventional rotation. Crops include tomato, safflower, corn,
beans and wheat, and various cover crops. Project is in its 7th season
and includes 10 faculty members, 4 farmers, and 2 farm advisors.

Minimum Qualifications: MS or PhD in an agricultural science with
experience in cropping systems and teaching/education/communication.
Excellent writing and communication skills required. Prefer someone with
experience with video or slide productions and experience with writing for
popular press. Travel in Western U.S., with some overnight necessary.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
