AREA INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT ADVISOR
Description: The University of California
Cooperative Extension is seeking a career track academic candidate to
initiate, coordinate, and/or conduct educational programs and adaptive
research projects with the goal of implementing IPM in horticulture crops
with a focus on ornamental horticulture. The primary object of IPM is the
optimization of control in terms of the overall economic, social and
environmental needs of society. Applicants must have a minimum of a M.S.
degree in some field of plant protection and several years of practical
field experience in pest management is required. A broad understanding of
crop and pest management principles, including knowledge of ornamental
horticulture production, nonchemical pest control, and pesticide use is
