request for contacts in San Fran area

I am coordinating a seminar in the San Francisco area the week of Dec 18-
23. The theme of the seminar will be "Systems Approaches to
Management of Natural Resources". Audience is a group of 9 Senegalese
researchers who are studying in the USA at the graduate level. Areas of
expertise from among the group include forestry, farming systems,
hydrology, rangeland management, and agronomy.

Suggested topics for the seminar include:
Nongovernmental organization involvement in natural resources
management
Community-based natural resource management
Social science perspectives on interaction of different groups within
communities and their natural resources
Use of Geographic information systems to model physical, social and
biological characteristics of environment

I am writing to ask for names and contact information of people, campuses
or organizations within 2 hours by car of Berkeley (where we will
probably stay) that are working in these areas. Also any suggestions of
"must see" natural resource-related sites and just tourist sites that you think
the group would enjoy.
