Janet Wren, a hydrologist at the U. S. Geological Survey is writing a paper
on the relationship between increasing world population, the demand for a
larger food supply and the more extensive use (and irrigation of) fragile
lands worldwide for agricultural purposes. She is especially interested in
the net effect to water quality from increased irrigation of these lands.
She needs references for papers and other published work on this and
