Two current VISTAs and one former VISTA ('92-'93) work at the Sustainable
Food Center in Austin, TX.
We work on low-income food access and nutrition. We organized and now
manage a farmers' market in a low-income, minority community in Austin
which supports local sustainable and organic farmers and improves
nutrition of community residents.
We have written a handbook for opening farmers' markets in low-income,
urban areas which is available free of charge.
