OFRF PUBLISHES 1993 ANNUAL REPORT, SETS PROGRAM GOALS FOR1994
The 1993 Annual Report of the Organic Farming Research
Foundation (OFRF) is now available to the public. The report
provides a brief description of the fourteen research and
education projects which received grant awards from OFRF in 1993.
It also outlines new areas of activity for the foundation,
including the creation of our Endowment Fund. OFRF also sponsored
a national legal conference on the term "organic" and conducted
the first survey of the nation's certified organic farmers. In
its third year of existence, OFRF raised a record $155,000 in
support of its multi-dimensional program.
In 1994 OFRF will continue to expand its program. Working
with a goal of raising over $238,000, we expect to increase the
number of grants awarded to on-farm research and education
projects, publish and circulate the final results of our National
Certified Organic Farmers Survey, and establish a set of policy
objectives designed to increase academic and government support
for on-farm, organic research. We also plan to publish the first
two issues of our new OFRF Information Bulletin. Plans for a
second legal conference and an Endowment Fund campaign are still
in development.
