News and reduced entrance fees to tours and workshops throughout
North and South Carolina.

Cancellations: refunds will be made for cancellations received by
registered mail by October 27 with a $5 cancellation fee. After
this date and up to November 9, a $10 cancellation fee will be
charged. No refunds can be made for cancellations received later
than November 9. However, you may designate an alternate attendee

GENERAL INFORMATION

Conference Site and Facilities

This conference will be held in the Joynes Conference Center
at Winthrop University, a state supported liberal arts school.
On-site lodging will be in the original faculty dorm where rooms
have been tastefully decorated by design students. There are
numerous small lounges for relaxing, discussions, and TV
watching. Scheduled talks will be held in other classrooms on
campus. Guests can take advantage of such college facilities as
the swimming pool and tennis courts.

Accommodations

The Joynes Conference Center (803-323-2305) has
accommodations for up to 90 people in suites, single and double
rooms with bathrooms shared by two rooms. Room rates are $33 for
a double and $27.50 for a single. There are four suites (each
with a queen sized bed and private bath) for $55 each. Rooms
should be reserved when pre-registering for the conference and
need to be paid for separately on arrival. If you choose a shared
double room, we will pair you with someone of the same sex unless
otherwise specified

Two other motels in Rock Hill have discount rates for guests
attending conferences at Winthrop University: Howard Johnson's
($42/night) (803-329-3121) and the Roadway Inn ($31-$35/night)
(803-329-210()). Be sure to mention that you are attending the
Sustainable agriculture conference.

Meals

Meals provided for conference attendees include a banquet on
Friday night, lunch and dinner on Saturday and a snack on Sunday.
In addition,snacks will be provided at breaks. Meals will
highlight organic and Carolina produced food products. Vegetarian
and vegan selections will be available. Breakfasts can be
purchased for $3.75 from the Winthrop cafeteria. Please reserve
your breakfasts with preregistration.

Directions

Rock Hill is 30 miles south of Charlotte, NC and 72 miles
north of Columbia, SC off of 1-77. From 1-77, turn west on exit
82B onto Hwy 21 Bus. Go 3.3 miles, turn left on Oakland and enter
Winthrop Univ. at first right. Park in front of the Conference
Center (a short distance on the right) where you will register,
receive a parking pass and a map.

Exhibits

Exhibitors are welcome. The fee for commercial exhibitors is
$75 per table; for non-profit organizations, the fee is $20 per
table. Conference attendance is additional. You may reserve as
much space as you desire. Please call Tom Sabel at 919-836-8944
to reserve exhibit space. People interested in being a conference
sponsor may contact Marjorie Bender at the CFSA office for more
information (919-968-1030).

Child Care

Are you interested in bringing your young children to the
conference. We may be able to help obtain parent-paid
baby-sitters for children under 12. These children would not
attend the conference workshops or meals. Contact the CFSA office
(919-968-1030) before October 27 to confirm availability.
