Lori, that is the whole ethos of Permaculture, increasing diversity
on the farm, planning spatial and temporal orientations to maximize
beneficial relationships between the increased diversity of species.
bill Mollison is the originator of the movement and he has many books
on the subject, just search under Permaculture. Good Luck
