Objectives: Small producers can not (and should not) compete on the same
level with the corporate farms, but may be able to produce a unique product
that appeals to an up-scale market. This forum will bring together Farmers,
Processors, Marketing Specialists, Researchers, and Representatives from
State and National Agricultural Agencies to engage in a dialogue addressing
issues and options that face small producer survivability and profitability.

b. Contracting a "uniform" supply to an existing plant
c. Backyard kill floors for ethnic markets
d. Potential to kill 500 hogs/year on farm without inspection (i.e. poultry,
rabbits)

5. Production Bits and Pieces:

sign for A&T). Head west on Market St. to second light (intersection of
Benbow and Market St.) and turn right on Benbow. Webb Hall (big brick
bldg. with Animal/Laboratory Animal Science) is on the corner of Benbow and
Market and the parking lot is the first drive way on the left.
