RE: bone meal as organic fertilizer

Does anyone out there use bone meal as part of your standard fertilizer
program? I would like to learn about your experience with this product.
When would you recommend its use, and which crops respond best?

We have been using it in some of our trials over the past couple of
years (bush bean, jicama, eggplant) and so far have seen some positive
results, at a rate of 1 metric ton/Acre, esp. in combination with
chicken manure or synthetic fertilizers.

Thx,
