LOOKING FOR STUDIES OF BENEFITS TO SOCIETY OF ON-FARM STEWARDSHIP RELATIVE TO COSTS OF FIXING PROBLEMS AFTER THE FACT.

I am looking for studies examining the costs and benefits to society of minimizing environmental impacts/maximizing environmental benefits on the farm in the first place through good stewardship practices relative to the costs of remediating or living with agriculture-related environmental problems (e.g. ground and surface water quality, erosion, etc.). Any citations or decent leads would be most appreciated!
