HORIZON LECTURESHIP IN ORGANIC LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION

INSTITUTE OF RURAL STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF WALES, ABERYSTWYTH

The University invites applications for a Lectureship in Organic Livestock
Production, sponsored by Horizon Organic International. This is a full-time
post from 1 September 2000 for an initial fixed term of five years. The
successful applicant will be responsible for teaching at both undergraduate
and postgraduate levels and developing the Institute's research programme in
organic livestock production, with emphasis on ruminant livestock systems.
As this research will focus on the biological aspects underpinning organic
livestock production candidates should ideally possess a PhD with a good
background in Animal Science. The successful applicant will also be
associated with the recently established Organic Farming Centre for Wales.

Salary on appointment will depend on qualifications and experience, and will
be either at Lecturer Grade A (salary scale GBP 16,775 - GBP 23,256) or
Lecturer Grade B (salary scale GBP 24,227 - GBP 30,967)
