Nominations are now open for American Farmland Trust's $10,000 Steward of
the Land Award. Now in its fifth year, the award recognizes the American
farmer or farm family who best demonstrates leadership in protecting
farmland and caring for the environment. The $10,000 cash award is the most
prestigious, nationwide award of its kind. It was established to honor the
memory of founding AFT Board member Peggy McGrath Rockfeller who exhibited a
deep personal commitment to farmland conservation.
There are two easy ways to nominate a farmer for the $10,000 award:
1. Request a nomination kit by calling 202-331-7300 ext. 3044
2. Download nomination materials from the Web at
