Subject: New Agforestry Text

Good day all:

The long awaited "North American Agroforestry: An Integrated Science and
Practice" (ed. H.E. Garrett, W.J. Rietveld and R.F. Fisher) text (402 p.) is
now available through the American Society of Agronomy. Members of
ASA-CSSA-SSSA can purchase the text for $40.00, non-members for $50.00. This
comprehensive treatise introduces the reader to a new and exciting field of
study in the U. S. that has broad application in the agricultural community.

Written by a team of experts on agroforestry, the text is full of valuable
design and technical information on temperate agroforestry and the five
practices, alley cropping, windbreaks, silvopasture, forested riparian
buffer strips and forest farming. The text includes chapters on the
economics, policy and social dimensions of agroforestry.
