PBS just announced that the first three episodes in Marilyn and Hal
Weiner's award-winning series JOURNEY TO PLANET EARTH will be
rebroadcast on Friday June 16th, 23rd and 30th at 10 p.m. EDT (check
local listings).

Note that the third installment, Land of Plenty, Land of Want, examines
agriculture's impact on natural and human resources. That segment was
co-funded by USDA's Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education
(SARE) program.

Produced in association with South Carolina Educational Television,
JOURNEY TO PLANET EARTH is designed to inform millions of viewers about
the delicate relationship between people and the world they inhabit.
The series is the first prime-time television initiative to deal
exclusively with important environmental issues.

The episodes and air-dates scheduled for June 2000 are:

upon the health of their river. Locations: the Mississippi, Amazon,

The Urban Explosion -- an exploration of a major dilemma of the 21st
Century: how to sustain the world's exploding urban population without
destroying the delicate balance of our environment. Locations: Mexico
City, Istanbul, Shanghai and New York City. (June 23rd, 2200-2300 EDT)

Land Of Plenty, Land Of Want -- an investigation of the fundamental
