Actually, full-cost energy accounting will very clearly show how
inefficient current oil-based (chemical/mechanical) U.S. agriculture
is, needing roughly 10 energy units to produce 1 energy unit of food.
Full-cost energy accounting is certainly a much better accounting
method than money-based economic units.
One of the most energy-efficient agricultural systems is the
traditional Chinese system, which is in a way an organic system.
