Why is "full energy accounting" such a great concept? It seems like the
form of energy is real important both economically and ecologically. I
think accounting based on how many megajoules are in my tractor, herbicide,
or crop is an excessive reduction. For example, a megajoule of artichokes
is pretty important, but a megajoule of corn stover...who cares. I'm not
saying it is wrong to make such an accounting, just that the usefulness is
limited.
