All final reports ever submitted to Southern Region SARE are now
online, along with the progress reports of the current projects. They
contain a wealth of practical information for farmers, extension and
researchers.
The earliest projects (funded 1988-1990) I found on an old disk
compiled by Patrick Madden back in 1993. As I prepared them for
posting I was struck by how sophisticated some of them were,
encompassing whole systems. For example LS88-2, the second
project funded in fhe region, was conducted by Prairie View
University in Texas. Vegetables, fruit trees, IPM, caged catfish,
white tailed deer and more were part of the system being evaluated
for small farmers. It is still a stellar project 12 years later with much
to offer new readers. The direct url for the collection is:
