INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE IN THE
NEXT MILLENNIUM - THE IMPACT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY ON DEVELOPING
COUNTRIES: This conference will be held from 29-31 May 2000
in Brussels, Belgium. It is being organized by Friends of
the Earth, Oxfam Solidarity Belgium and the Dag
Hammerskj÷ld Foundation, with support from the European
Commission. The meeting aims to bring together policy
makers, scientists and other experts involved in the rural
development and environment field. Participants will
examine the potential contribution modern biotechnology may
offer developing countries and will compare it with other
