Apologies for cross-posting. Please share with interested parties (CSA
farmers).
The national database of CSA farms will be updated shortly. Before we do
the next upload to the web, we want to be sure as many CSA farms as possible
are listed. Please send new or updated CSA listings BY MAY 7 AT THE LATEST.
The best way to do this is to fill out the form on the web
(http://www.nal.usda.gov/afsic/csa/csaform.htm). If you absolutely cannot
get access to the web, you can send your CSA farm information via e-mail
(csa@nal.usda.gov) or FAX (301-504-6409). See the end of this message for
the information needed for each CSA farm.
IF you have submitted an entry since February, 2000, we have your data but
it will not show up on the web until after the update this month. There is
no need to re-submit data. If you are wondering whether the database
benefits CSA farmers, see the message I received yesterday from a CSA
farmer, pasted at the end of this message.
If you are not familiar with this database, compiled in October, 1999 with
the help of many cooperating farmers and CSA organizations
(http://www.nal.usda.gov/afsic/csa/csacoorgs.htm), see the database at any
of the following mirror sites hosted by cooperators on this project. The
state-by-state listing of CSA farms is identical at these 4 sites, and all 4
will be updated after we receive your information.

database, and a letter of praise from a CSA farmer.

_______________-message from CSA farmer--name withheld______
Hello Andy,
I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know of the overwhelming
response that I have received this season since having listed my CSA
operation on the USDA website. It has truly been a blessing. As of today,
over 40 percent of my CSA income for the 2000 season has been a direct
result of being listed on the internet.
I have considered setting up my own website; however, with such great
results from the USDA site and others(I'm listed on 4 sites), I'm not sure I
need one. Once again, let me extend my sincere thanks to you and your
co-workers for doing such a great job (in such a short time) of getting this
site up and running. I for one have benefitted tremendously from it!
