May 1st Deadline Nears for New Sustainable Agriculture Research Award

WALTHILL, NE - The Center for Rural Affairs and the Consortium for
Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (CSARE) seek people who have
worked to develop sustainable food and farming systems that are practical,
productive, and environmentally sound.

The groups are looking for innovative farmers, ranchers, research
scientists, educators and others to submit nominations for the Seventh
Generation Research Award: a national recognition award. Individuals and
research teams are encouraged to apply.

The postmark deadline is May 1st, 2000. The application process is very
simple and brief. To obtain a copy of the award application, please contact
Bradley Porterfield or Kim Leval at (541) 687-1490 or e-mail us at
bradleyporter@earthlink.net. You can also find a copy of the application
form at the Center's web site www.cfra.org.

Self-nomination, as well as nomination of others is permitted. Application
requirements are included on the award application form.
