My apologies for any cross postings. I am looking for your favorite
materials that address the politics of food and agriculture in a
progressive fashion. These may be scientific, inspirational, academic,
activist, policy or other kinds of information. The materials can be in
the form of books, articles (popular press or academic journals), book
chapters, unpublished manuscripts, even textbooks or curricula,
bibliographies, or just names of great writers. Materials covering
either domestic or international issues are ok. If you want, you can
include 1-3 sentences explaining why you highly recommend that
particular piece.

I realize the subject, the politics of food and agriculture, is awfully
broad and that could generate quite a bit of material addressing policy,
populism, technology, social factors, social justice, trade, research
and education, grassroots movements, food systems, sustainable
agriculture, the structure of agriculture, etc., etc., but that is ok.
I will attempt to create a huge bibliography by categorizing the
materials suggested and will post that bibliography back on these list
serves in a few weeks. I look forward to hearing your suggestions,

John Fawcett-Long
