RECRUITMENT FOR: AGRICULTURAL MARKETING SPECIALIST III
(Class Code: 3153)

SALARY: $30,246 - $45,102 (Grade 14)

CLOSING DATE: FRIDAY, April 21, 2000

POSITION DUTIES: This position is experienced level work
in the field of agricultural marketing services. The position serves
as the marketing specialist for the Organic Certification Program,
including serving on the Maryland Organic Certification Advisory
Committee (MOCAC), which makes policy recommendations to the Secretary
of Maryland Department of Agriculture. On a day-to-day level, the
employee works with organic and non-organic farmers, individually and
collectively, to carry out the Department's program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in marketing,
economics, home economics, agricultural economics, business
administration or an agricultural science from an accredited college or
university; AND four years of successful, progressively responsible
experience in marketing, marketing research, economic analysis or a
phase of the production, promotion or distribution of agricultural
products.

NOTES:

1. Applicants may substitute graduate education, in the subjects
outlined above, at an accredited college or university for up to one
year of the required experience at a rate of 30 semester graduate
credit hours for one year of the required experience.

2. Employees in the classification will be required to travel
within the State of Maryland.

the date of an examination. Credit is given for relevant part-time,
