Joel, I want to add UC Santa Cruz, even though it is larger than small, it
is still a "small farm".
When this subject came up last year I suggested that someone might want to
start a list on one of the group list servers. That discussion evolved into
a spirited discussion of on-line advertising, and the college farm idea was
lost for the moment. Thank you for re-posting it.
We have just started a new college farm group, and invite interested persons
to subscribe at collegefarm-subscribe@egroups.com The URL is
http://www.egroups.com/group/collegefarm.
The list is for students, faculty and others who are interested in on-campus
or near-campus sustainable, alternative and educational farming and
gardening projects. Special emphasis on student-run farms, but also
including mentored research and demonstration projects. This will be an
excellent forum in which to discuss internships and apprenticeships,
academic credits potential, faculty and student positions, students seeking
admission to special programs, special programs seeking students, and
anything and everything to do with college level farming and gardening.
Anyone who is interested please sign on and introduce yourself with your
special interests and activities. Be polite and respectful, limit your posts
to a reasonable length, don't harangue or flame, and no advertising without
asking the group first.
Regards,
Andy Lee
