Down with this one law fits all. When we started growing food we did so
because we wanted food grown without synthetic substances. Your right we
did not trust the USDA and their DDT and other so called science shit.
years later when organic certifiers started up we join CCOF and they helped
us grow using natural things and no synthetics. it was volunteer then not
forced certification. the biggest fight was trying to find out what was
all natural. If this new law lets growers use synthetics instead of natural
things to grow then USDA wins the war.. we did not win anything when the
USDA said no irritation or no sluges or no GMO they were never consider
organic to begin with. If u count that as a win for the people then u do not
understand as that was part of the smoke and mirrors the USDA set up to con
the people into thinking they were on our side. well to me this organic
law is a way the big fish will eat all the little fish . $5000 as a small
farm is a joke and this law will burden small growers . to get something
from the Gov. u have to be so big but for the Government to steal from u
$5000 is big enough . they say they will not charge the grower yet they
make the grower join some outfit that does bleed him. the farmer will end up
paying for tests, inspectors, state ag,some certifier and who know who and
what else? you have to jump through whatever hoops they say and each has
different hoops that u have to jump through. no one can tell u the cost
because so many people will have their hand in you pocket and each can
charge what they want and this dumb law will make u have to pay it if you
want to tell folks how u farm. also anyone of those bottomfeeders can
destroy your life or make it harder than it already is. every year for the
rest of our lives we will have to prove we are telling the truth . why does
one have to repay and rejoin and do paper work every year year after year I
mean what does the date have to do with how we farm. . it seem as soon as ur
done paying one of these bottom feeders another come around and tells u it
is time to pay them off. by the time ur done doing all the paper work for
one group another one wants their paper work. I was inspected twice in one
week one year. first by the state of Ca. then a few day later I was
inspected by CCOF. it is not just a burden but it is paying lots of folks
anything they ask and doing what they say at anytime where as chemical
farmers the real polluter don't have to go through is bs. its the fact that
u have to let people on your land that are trying to catch u at something at
anytime . who wants that on their meditation and who wants that on their
land and in their house. I lock my gate because I want to keep the evil
outside. now they want to tell us not only what not to farm and what is not
organic but they want tell u how to farm and u are just a slave to the slave
master USDA. they say they want to help the small farmer but they are
bleeding the turnips. they say they want to get big government out of
running our lives yet they are adding more paper work, unfair
fees, unnecessary duplication work and searches and all sorts of wickedness
if u want to grow organic. . I feel what ever the organic grower has to do
all growers should be made to do. good for the goose good for the gander.
that is a level playing field. how the hell is this a level playing field it
cost lots more to be organic in Texas then Iowa and even more in Ca. .
If organic food is not safer or if organic food like the USDA says is not
better for the earth then how do they justify this bullshit. let them
enforce the laws on the books now. if they are worried about fraud. forced
certification and forced inspections and forced tests and forced fees all
for something that has nothing to do with public health or the health of the
earth what bs. how can they take away our right of free speech so easy and
how can the pick our pocket so easy. IMHO this is getting nuts. so now are
chicken tractors no longer considered organic . If the USDA really wants to
help out let them give us a definition of what is organic and stop there and
let the market work out the certification and the other stuff. the market
has been doing a good job so far without the help of the GMO releasing
pesticide spraying ozone killing ,water and air and earth and food polluting
. USDA and their so call science.
