Incredulously, do you mean Washington is >>"proposing "emergency"
spending on a par with the 1993 Midwestern floods in order to relieve
the supposed hardship"<<due to the current gas prices (which will fall
before their help arrives)??
This is similar to my area's recent bailout requests for flooding
damage last fall (Hurricane Floyd). We needed it--but the best
support came from local people helping local people. Farmers were
put to the test and neighbors all over the state rose to the occasion.
We didn't need Washington--what help they supplied came with too much
red tape.
