Your wise decision

Dear Sirs:

Permit me to congratulate Frito-Lay regarding it's courageous and
well thought decision to join Gerber and Heinz, whose directors also
wisely chose to exclude the use of Genetically Modified ingredients in
their food products.

The inherent risks that accompany the use of Genetically Modified.
organisms in the food chain and / or their release to the environment
at large, are neither necessary nor justified by the professed
benefits claimed by those holding the patents to them, given that
millions of years of biological development have resulted in a
bountiful diversity that merits further study and preservation, an
endeavor still far from completion.

The glib and shallow claims made by those promoting novel, man made
organisms shine feebly next to the potential emanating from natural
resources that require no disarticulation in order to reproduce new
and traditional products that are highly useful to man; products that
grow from within and evolve from an inter-species collaboration that
fully respects the integrity of the whole organism.

I suggest that Frito-Lay take their decision one step farther by
taking the additional actions required to assure a 100% GMO free
product and declaring that fact publicly. It has every right to reap
the benefits that act would bring. Once again, I recognize the
congruence of your decision thus far and urge you to complete the
process: Consumers of Frito-Lay products will support that next,
logical and laudable step.

Thanking you beforehand for your your attention, I remain

Sincerely yours,

Douglas Hinds, Dir. Gral. - CeDeCoR, A.C.
