Hi,
One of the farmers we work with in DE grows lima
beans. Apparently, in the processing of the beans they use a salt water
solution to separate green from white beans. The issue is what to do
with the waste water. If it is used for irrigation, it has a salt
content to it. It is cost prohibited to filter out the salt. One
suggestion was made to irrigate it onto a crop that can uptake the
salt. Does anyone have any experience with this, or ideas for what
crops take up salt so that it doesn't become a soil problem? Thanks!
