Subject: food illness
In the Sunday Sacramento Bee an article detailed the deaths and sickness
that arose from hotdogs and sandwich meat that originated from a Sara Lee
processing plant in MIchigan. There were about 20 deaths and many sick
from the products from this place. The USDA found violation after
violation and did not do much if anything according to article. The
article stated they did not do anything because of campaign contributions
from the meat industry to influential representatives and senators. Sounds
like their is more than bad meat to this mess. I guess I was not surprised
so much by the political $$ but how lax a system we get as a result. John
McCain is correct about this if this case is any indication of what really
goes on. The article originally appeared in the Washington Post.
